Hey tanbo!!!!
Sectional outing will be held next thursday 18 June after prac till evening about 5 or 6pm! We will be holding a picnic at the botanical gardens and we will proceed there right after prac ends! Everyone will bring some food and we can eat and play games there. :)
Please confirm your attendance with me through sms, email, or tagging on this blog by THIS SUNDAY 14/06. Also please volunteer to bring the items required. I shall list some examples here:
Picnic mat (preferably more than one, cos we have a lot of people)
Food (preferably finger food, but some staple food also needed)
Drinks
Eating utensils (plates, cups, cutlery)
Serviettes/tissue
Rubbish bags (plastic bags)
Games (eg poker cards, balls, frisbee, board games?)
Scores for 火把节 will be sent out asap once I get hold of them. I do not have scores for 瑶族舞曲, so you will only get it when prac starts next thurs. (This is with the exception of pipa - I have sent out both scores already.)

瑶族舞曲
综述
管弦乐《瑶族舞曲》，刘铁山茅沅曲。这是一首非常值得仔细聆听，反复回味的单乐章管弦乐曲。
作品创作于20世纪50年代。作曲家以民间舞曲《长鼓歌舞》为素材用管弦乐的手法，丰富、生动的展现了瑶族民众欢歌热舞的喜庆场面。乐曲用优美的旋律，表现了能歌善舞的瑶族人民的生活情貌。
据说，该曲先由刘铁山有感于粤北瑶族同胞载歌载舞欢庆节日场面，以当地传统歌舞鼓乐为素材创作了《瑶族长鼓舞歌》，后由茅沅将该曲的部分主题改编为管弦乐，最终完成了这首中国管弦乐作品中的奇葩——《瑶族舞曲》
结构
管弦乐《瑶族舞曲》为单乐章复三段体结构（A→B→A）
引子部分
乐曲模仿优雅的长鼓节奏轻轻奏响，描写月光下瑶寨的男女老少从各自家中纷纷进入寨中的旷地的情景。逐渐带起第一部分。
第一部分（A段）
主要描写美丽的瑶族姑娘婀娜多姿的舞步。音乐非常柔美轻缓，人们仿佛看到节日之夜长鼓奏响歌声轻起时，身着盛装的瑶家儿女聚集在银色的月光之下。乐队的弦乐器奏出幽静委婉的主题宛如窈窕少女翩翩起舞，婀娜多姿，美轮美奂。随着主题的发展，越来越多的姑娘纷纷加入舞蹈行列。气氛逐渐热烈，管乐奏出活泼欢快的主题，恰似一群小伙子情不自禁地闯入姑娘们的行列，欢腾舞跃起来，尽情抒发了兴奋的心情。
第二部分（B段）
乐曲转调，改用三拍子。旋律在安宁富有歌唱性中发展，时而又出现跳跃的节奏型。深情委婉又与瑶族特有的柔美舞姿结合起来，独具韵味。恰似一对对青年恋人边歌边舞，互诉爱慕之情，共同品味着爱情的甜蜜，憧憬着美好的未来。
第三段（A段再现）
再现了第一段的主题，人们纷纷加入舞列。欢跳着，旋转着，舞之，蹈之，气氛热烈，感情奔放。酣畅地展示了瑶族男女
热情奔放的精神面貌。乐曲在强烈的节奏中推向高潮，在快速欢畅的情绪中结束。
